Assignment
This project was all about interaction: using proven design patterns, gestures, voice-control, feedback, feedforward, affordance, triggers, form controls, etc.
Assignment: individually design a small site/app in which users can save, edit and share notes and plans for their upcoming vacation with their travel companions.
Design challenges:
•How can you ensure that young travelers can plan their vacation (together)?
•How can you ensure that users of 'Preppie' can control the app with their voice? (for example for the visually impaired, people who have their hands full, or users who use Google Home or similar concepts).
Reflection
I wasn't completely satisfied with the end result. If I were to continue working on this project, I would have adjusted the following points:
1. I would improve the audio feedback by using more subtle and appropriate sounds for the various functions that can be performed with speech.
2. I would make removing list items work more smoothly in the prototype.
3. Tweak the design. The logo has already been changed and now radiates a more happy face.
4. I would do more research into the language use of the target group to add as many voice commands as possible that could be used. Which I would then include in and test with the prototype.
